Volunteer

In the office
Volunteers and students can help us in a variety of ways. We can work with students to become an approved work-study or co-op site. Students can often find descriptions of intern opportunities with us at http://www.interninmichigan.com/.

We are always looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular schedule or a project. This work is generally based in the CCJ office. Volunteers should have good communication and computer skills. 

• Help us answer the phones, especially in our Flint office.
• Help us prepare attractive community education materials.
• Research data and other reports for our policy work. 
• Help us revise forms and reports using Microsoft Access.  
• Provide general office assistance to the executive assistant (copying, filing, phones, etc).
• Law students and attorneys with excellent research and writing skills may have opportunities to volunteer helping to do research and writing on our larger cases. 

With the Board
We are always keeping our eyes open for qualified individuals to serve on a board committee or the board itself.  We seek individuals who are passionate about our mission and who want to support what we do with their talents and skills, community connections, and resources. Those interested should send an inquiry to info@ccj-mi.org. We'll give you an opportunity to meet with staff and one or more members of the board. Our board committees include finance, personnel, development, and communications.
