This section talks about several other health programs that can be helpful to lower income families. These include Resident County Hospitalization, MI-Child, and Medicare. Click on the menu on the right to see information about a specific program and CCJ's work on these issues.

Resident County Hospitalization

Each county in Michigan is required to provide coverage for medical bills associated with in-patient hospitalization, to needy individuals who meet financial eligibility rules set by the county. In many counties, the Resident County Hospitalization (RCH) program helps supplement the Adult Medical Program or County Plan A, which does not cover in-patient care.

CCJ provides advocacy to ensure that counties are operating an RCH program, that individuals who may qualify for the programs are made aware of them, and that eligible individuals receive coverage for hospital, doctor, and other provider bills for services received during in-patient hospitalizations.

CCJ's advocacy has helped to gain expansion of RCH programs. See About CCJ/Accomplishments/Access to Health Care.
